Ulysses Moore - The Long Lost Map

author : Pierdomenico Baccalario

This is book two of the Ulysses Moore series, and the story tells us about the adventure after the first book (The Door to Time) closed off. The story takes place in the land of Punt, a forgotten Egyptian city lost in time. Ulysses Moore (the man who found this land before the children) is dead now and it’s up to recover the map of Kilmore Cove. It all starts when the kids walk into the chest and make a mess. The kids are Julia Covenant, Jason Covenant, and Rick Banner. Julia and Jason are twins, and Jason is a young boy with a "devil tongue".
When they walk threw the door to time, they find themselves in a storage room. They hear tapping and all of the sudden the walls start crashing down and the boys are trapped in Punt, in an ancient Egypt, with Julia outside of the door! In the book before the children are trying to find a map and the secrets left behind by Ulysses. That book continued into this book. Now that the boys are in Punt and they meet a young girl named Maruk. She will be their guide threw the Land of Punt. With only Mr. Moore's journal, they will find the map and hopefully back to home safely.
This book is a great choice to read, it’s kind of amazing illustrative story inside. From the writing, we also can raise up our curiosity. The best thing about this book is the author knows how to make contents and characters sound realistic and so alive. Although this book categorized for kids: 8-10 age group, we also recommend the book for children over 10. This is a great book to spark a teen reader's interest in Egyptian mythology. Reading this, we likely follow their adventures. Solving many brain-teasing riddles, and it makes us feel like we was in Egypt!
